Its that point leading upto Christmas where you start to get a little stressed. Your beginning to think about the food & drink shop that will need done next week, sleeping arrangements for your guests, have you brought everyone a present(s), you need to actually start your Christmas shopping!
You think how much easier it would be if you could just take all that stress away...possibly with a Christmas break...Maybe even a Christmas in the sun.
My parents did exactly that one year when I was younger. We went to Tunisia and stay at the Imperial Marhaba in Port El Kantaoui (I was deeply saddened when the attack took place last year here)
So reminiscing about my Christmas away got me thinking where I would take my little family away at this time of year.
1. The Number 1 place would of course have to be......LAPLAND!
Yes I know its the opposite to everything I've said above i.e involving Christmas and its cold but I think this would be a carefree fun holiday to go on. Meeting Santa Claus, going through the snowy forest on reindeer pulled sleigh, husky sled rides, Ice Fishing and Visit Santa's Village.
2. Dubai
Time to enjoy some heat. Time to shop (for yourself and not others!). Have fun at the waterpark.
3. Caymen Islands
Where sand turns to snow. Locals spread the sand from the beaches around their garden and home to make it look like snow ready for Santa (White Sand Yards). The residents also compete to have the most whitest, brightest and beautiful sand yard so its nice to go along and see who you think wins.
4. Goa, India
Where the palm trees become Christmas trees. Where the beaches turn into a dancefloor.
5. New York
If your lucky you'll have a white Christmas. Treat yourself with some well deserved shopping. Visit the famous Christmas tree in the Rockefeller Center Plaza. Go ice skating in Central Park. Watch a show. View the spectacular window displays on 5th Avenue.
6. Aspen, Colorado
One word..Skiing
7. Paris
If your like me the first place you will visit is Disneyland...or possibly just stay here the entire time your away.
I cannot wait to take Harrison..see all the Disney characters in the Christmas Parade on Christmas themed floats under the decorations on Main Street U.S.A. See the chrostmas tree all lit up. Watch the fireworks. Watch endless shows. Enjoy Christmas dinner with all the Disney gang.
8. Germany
Experience a Christmas Market like never before. Get Merry and eat lots...perfect time away.
9. Edinburgh
I love it here, so much history and hidden gems. Also a warm welcome from everyone. Its truly a beautiful place.
10. Various Locations on a Cruise
Dressing up for dinner. Watching endless hours of entertainment. Visit an array of places and see which one you prefer best. Can be tailored on hotter climates or colder, take your pick.
