What was a spare bedroom has slowly been turned into our little boys nursery.
It went from a girly room with pink flower stickers, pink stripe rug and a big white leather bed to elephants and crammed with toys.
The Cot
The furniture is white gloss so we thought if we could get a gloss cot that would be perfect. After a trip to John Lewis we found the Silver Cross Notting Hill Cotbed which was just what we were after. Although it seemed a lot for a cot (£350!), we were told that it was in fact a Cotbed so therefore it will last us longer as it turns into a toddler bed. I would strongly suggest spending the extra if your going to get a few years out of it at least.
The Moses Basket
This has to be my most favourite piece of his nursery. When he comes home, this will be coming in with us but for now it takes residence in the Nursery.
My Aunty made this for us. She has done it for years, starting off making the Moses Baskets for my cousins when they were babies (I was before her Moses Basket making time!).
We had already thought we would like to include elephants in the Nursery so when she showed me the material she was using I couldn't believe that it was elephants as we hadn't told anyone.
I cant wait to bring him home and put him to bed and see him all tucked up and snug in it beside us. I think that will be a picture moment 📷
Chest of Drawers
My original plan was to be have this for his clothes and possibly have a separate changing unit. However after speaking to people I realised what was the point in putting another piece of furniture in there when I could make perfectly good use of what we have. Therefore I am using the chest of drawers as a large changing unit.
6 drawers all full of essentials. Changing stuff, aNppies (plus 2 large boxes beside the unit full of nappies...I think we should have enough for a while!), Bath products, Towels, Sleepsuits and lastly socks, mittens and hats. This way everything is accessible in one place.
Wardrobe
This boy has so many clothes! Everyone has been so generous and the fact that me and his dad like to shop probably doesn't help either. From his first Baker by Ted Baker outfit (Blazer, shirt and Trousers) to Ralph Lauren (My aunty stocked up for us on holiday to USA). My biggest buys were from Debenham's when they had their sale. I picked up so many cute cheap outfits from J by Jasper Conran. I have also stocked up on his vests, baby joggers and trousers from Primark and H&M Baby. Primark are brilliant for vests and Sleepsuits, they are cheap enough that you don't mind throwing away after a while it need be. They also have different colours and patterns so not just plain and boring.
Toys
I had already brought the Cozy Kingdom Swing as I knew I wanted a baby operated swing (save my legs and I heard that they can be good to get them to sleep by using the gentle motion)
At my baby shower we then got brought the bright Starts Jungle Bouncer and the Spots Stripes Safari Playgym as well as so many other soft cuddly toys and also sensory toys.

I really like the Bright Starts brand as the colours, textures, noises and animals are great for entertaining little ones but also they are stimulating their senses from a young age which is so important in their development.
This is the same with some of his sensory toys and also teethers such as the sassy rattle set, My first buggy buddy noises book and Sophie la girafe teether we brought him from John Lewis.
He also has his Tummy time mat and Roll for when we want to encourage him to lift his head to strengthen his neck, arms and other muscles.
Decoration
We brought the elephant family wall stickers from Not on the High Street. The bunting I have put above his cot (for now) came from the baby shower and we have some frames that I will fill with pictures over the next coming weeks to hang up ready for when he goes into his own room.
We got given the rug by my cousins girlfriend who works for a child's company who sell to all the high street shops.
I was given a bit of advise from a family friend that to get him used to his cot (the height and frame) and the surroundings, after 6 months or whenever he is outgrowing the Moses Basket we should start by putting his Moses Basket in the cot when he has his afternoon naps then maybe for a night and then stop using the Moses Basket.
Like everything, all babies are different but I'm willing to give it a go.
