Getting beach ready: Top picks of swimwear

by - Wednesday, April 15, 2015

So I don't know about you but this warm weather we are experiencing has really made me want to be away lying on a sunbed sipping away on a colourful exotic drink taking leisurely dips in the pool to cool down but instead I'm sitting in a office with a desk piled high with files and a phone that won't stop ringing and occasionally getting the chance to stare out the window looking at all the people walking by without a care in the world, this is so unfair!

So I've started looking for a Summer holiday. Usually I'm a 2 week only girl preferrably long haul, as I feel that being further away from the UK is better or I've just been spoilt with my past holidays and it's kinda stuck. However this year, I've realised that a 9 hour flight might not be fun so short easy haul it is...plus when I can eventually take my holiday (people were already booking holiday off in Feb/March!) it will be rather hot wherever we go and being 6 months pregnant I'll probably only be able to handle a week. If my Nan was reading this I know she would be saying I was pregnant with your mum the whole time in 30 plus degree heat in Cyprus and I didn't complain.

This would be the time where I would usually be starting to get into the 'Bikini Bod' frame of mind so it's nice to not worry this year. Instead I'll be displaying (hopefully) a nice neat little bump. I am still going to the gym, Little white lie alert! I've just started going again now I have my evening energy back so I can work on keeping my core muscles tight and work on my legs and arms to get those looking nice for summer.

So onto the most important aspect of holidays, the wardrobe and of course the choice of swimwear. I have a problem when it comes to swimwear, a spending problem! I have a whole large drawer full of Bikini's from last year and this has happened each year. I cannot help but keep buying them. I like a variety and end up taking more Bikini's than the days we are there!
So as for the style of Bikini's I have been browsing at for this year (note I still have not brought one single new set YET), the bottoms aren't a style I would pick up instantly but they also aren't a style I would dismiss totally. I was going to purchase a high waisted bikini set from Topshop last year but the thought of the tan lines came into my head but this year I will need more bump protection and support over tan coverage so I've been looking around to find a few sets that could be potential new bikini/swimsuit purchases. Swimsuits will be a new thing for me as the last time I worn one I think was back in School! But these days they look nicer and aren't the horrible plain blue or black with crossover backs which was a nightmare to get off.

I really like the colours and patterns of these. They are the patterns that I would typically go for, pretty floral prints and tiled effect. The colours are bright without being too bold and way out and I like the idea of the two tone effect on the swimsuit to give the illusion of a two piece.
The cuts of the bikini tops are also practical in that you have full coverage to stop any unfortantate exposure, removable straps to stop the all important strap marks and all look feminine & pretty and the cuts look really good against the high waisted bottoms.

Now I've got my selection of Bikini's, I just need to pick the destination that they can be worn in. Any suggestions?

Do you like my selection of swimwear? What style of Bikini's and Swimsuits do you prefer most. If you've done a post on swimwear would love your links.
