OOTN for Children with Cancer UK Charity Ball
On Friday evening I attended a Charity Ball that my Aunty was hosting as part of her (and a few others) London Marathon 2015 fundraising for their chosen Charity, Children with Cancer UK . This was chosen due to a little boy Jayden Wilson who lives in Basingstoke (my home town). On the 10th September 2013, he was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Brain Stem Tumour and given only 1 year to live. You may or may not have seen the hashtag #HopeForJayden. He sadly lost his life on Christmas Eve 2014 but was still fighting to the end and inspiring our community with his strength and courage. Money raised will help fund for research to help other children fight the disease.
Each seat was £50 and this includes champagne reception, 3 course dinner and disco afterwards. An auction was also hosted with incredible prizes gifted such as week stay in Florida, 4 Night in french farmhouse with gourmet chef for 6, 4 places for Footballer of the Year Dinner and many more. My Boyfriend also provided a little something from his business (valet and detailing) which was closed at £120 so he feels he did his part.
At the end of the night, the total amount raised for the night was a staggering £7097!!
Truly amazing what can happen when a small town community pulls together. So with this and their donations on the virginmoneygiving page (which includes herself, other family members and friends also running) they have smashed their 10k target at now £12,648.

With another 10 weeks until they head to the start lines, there's still plenty of time for another fundraiser (I've become an event addict)
