Writing Inspiration

by - Thursday, November 06, 2014

I got sent these Coco Chanel Pencils from Karen at DOTTIE ROCKS and I thought what better post than a writing style post. This will include how I get my inspiration, how and when I blog. Plus how can I not get fashion inspiration from using these beauties!
In the words of coco Chanel "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening".

I started my blog at the start of the year. I started blogging as I have always had an interest in Fashion & Beauty and although I could talk to my friends and family about it, they didn't share the same passion as me. Therefore I thought ill start a blog to express and talk about something I enjoy and share with others who have a similar interest to me.

I usually get my inspiration from what I use/wear on a daily basis. I am able to review and show (OOTD) what I like and put together wish lists and lookbooks by following the latest trends.

I have also recently branched out to write about sensitive subjects that have effected me, such as Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Emotionally they take a lot to write but I write them to enable my readers to know a little bit more about me, plus if I can raise just that little bit of awareness to my readers I feel that I have accomplished more than just writing a post.

There's nothing that I love more than having a quiet night in. My fairy lights on, magazines spread out on the bed and chewy sweets out. My favourites are Elle, Cosmopolitan, Company and the OK magazine. This is where I can check out the latest beauty products must have's and latest fashion trends (I'm using thinking to myself can I pull that look off?) This is where else I gather my inspiration from.

When it comes to writing posts, I lead a rather hectic life. I work full time plus my boyfriend has his own business. Our weekends consist of doing his paperwork, accounts etc on a saturday so our only whole free day to spend together is a Sunday (business talk usually takes place but at least we are together).

I usually start drafting my posts on my phone in my lunchtimes, quiet time at work and then finish and edit the post when I get home after the gym in between preparing dinner, showering and washing my hair before bedtime. This is probably the reason why I don't get to post as many posts as I would like and my New Years Resolution is to make more time for me. I plan on taking this time to schedule posts so I don't feel bad that I'm not posting enough.

How do you get your inspiration?
How do you write posts?
Any tips for me how I can improve mine?
